Agenda Item #24
School-Based Applications for Florida Learn and Serve Grant
The goal of the Florida Learn and Serve Program is to engage K-12 students in service activities which apply academic curricula to improve student performance, provide for civic engagement, and career exploration. Four Brevard schools have applied for competitive, renewal school-based grant funds to support service learning projects for the 2010-2011 school year. Attached is a detailed list of schools, requested funding, match required, and a brief description of each project. In addition, Endeavour Elementary School will apply for non-competitive funds as a Florida Service-Learning Leader School.
Approve the writing and subsequent submission of five Florida Learn and Serve School-Based Grant Applications for the schools outlined on the attached document.
