Agenda Item #45
Involuntary Termination of Instructional Employee, Rita M. Green
On May 12, 2009, the Board accepted the Superintendent's recommendation to terminate the employment of Rita M. Green as a teacher for a violation of the Code of Ethics and The Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in Florida, immorality and misconduct in office. Ms. Green requested and received a formal administrative hearing by an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) from the Division of Administrative Hearings. On April 28, 2010, the ALJ issued a Recommended Order recommending that the Board enter a final order terminating Ms. Green's employment with the school district.
(Please note that the Recommended Order contains a scrivener's error in the recommendation on page 13, mistakenly referring to the "Broward County School Board" instead of the "Brevard County School Board". The scrivener's error is corrected in the proposed Final Order.)
Adopt the Administrative Law Judge's Recommended Order as the Board's Final Order and enter the Final Order which is attached.
