eCybermission is a U.S. Army sponsored, web-based science, math and technology competition that allows students in grades six through nine to compete for regional and national awards while working to solve problems in their community. The 8th grade science research/Sea Slugs Cybermission Team from Stone Magnet Middle School has been named an eCybermission National Finalist Team. The team has been invited to travel to the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Maryland, from June 15-19 for the 2015 eCybermission National Judging and Educational Event.
The U.S. Army pays for all expenses (airfare, hotel, meals) for team members and their sponsor/chaperone. Four students and two chaperones (male and female) plan to attend. Expenses related to the second chaperone that are not covered by eCybermission will be paid for by the magnet program at Stone Magnet Middle School and fundraising. The team will fly out of Orlando International Airport for Baltimore area airport on Monday, June 15, and return on Friday, June 19. They will be staying at the Hunt Valley Inn.
