Title
Merritt Island High Field Trip to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA

Discussion
Members of the Merritt Island High School Cheer Squad are requesting permission to attend and perform in the All-State Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA as part of the Halftime Show with a celebrity performer.  They will also attend Master Dance classes.  This is the fourth consecutive year the cheerleaders have performed as part of a combined group made up of schools from around the nation under the direction of World Stride Performance Program.  The two chaperones traveling with the group are both BPS employees.  One is a teacher at Tropical Elementary and the other is a certified substitute.  The cheerleaders will travel to New Orleans, LA provided by their parents either by plane or private vehicle.  Approximately 5-7 students will be attending.  While in New Orleans, transportation to the practice venue and the All-State Sugar Bowl Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be provided by World Stride Heritage Performance on an authorized bus line.  The students will be staying at a World Stride Heritage Performance authorized Hampton Inn Hotel.  Various fundraisers were held throughout the year to defer individual student costs.  Students are responsible for the remainder cost of the trip.  No school days will be missed as the trip is scheduled during Winter Break.
