Mid-South Area Support - Building 2 Demolition and Site Improvements - General Contractor Services
In February 2014, the School Board approved the demolition of Building 2 and construction of site related improvements at the Mid-South Area Support facility on Pineapple Avenue in Melbourne. Facilities Services has notified and/or received approvals from the City of Melbourne Historic Preservation Board, the Brevard County Historical Commission, the South Brevard Historical Society, the Florida Department of State - Division of Historical Resources and the Florida Department of Education - Office of Educational Facilities regarding the demolition of Building 2.
Quotes were requested from the District's Continuing Services General Contractors based on construction documents for the demolition and site improvements prepared by Droor and Associates. Ivey's Construction Inc., submitted the lowest responsive and responsible quote at $135,000.
The total project budget for the design, construction, testing, construction administration, permitting, inspection and contingency is $165,000.
Funding is available in budgeted Capital Funds for the project.
Board approval is required for a purchase order over $25,000. In order to expedite this work, approval is requested as a consent agenda item without prior information.
Approve the total project budget of $165,000 for the Mid-South Area Support - Building 2 Demolition and Site Improvement Project.
Approve the lump sum quote submitted by Ivey's Construction Inc. under their Continuing Contract for General Contractor Services for the Mid-South Area Support - Building 2 Demolition and Site Improvement Project in the amount of $135,000.
