Field Trip - Viera High Cross Country - Summer Conditioning Running Camp in Boone, NC
The Viera High Cross Country Boys and Girls teams consisting of approximately 21 students, two Viera High head coaches (both male and female) and one registered fingerprinted volunteer will travel to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC July 20-24, 2014. The three adult chaperones are current Brevard Public Schools employees or registered volunteer who are properly fingerprinted with the district.
The team will travel in authorized rental vans to Boone, NC to compete in the Appalachian State University Team Camp. While in Boone, NC the team will stay on campus in the Appalachian State dormitories. The team will hear lectures on being a high school athlete, do activities that help them grow as a team and train in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. There will be planned meetings for participants to insure all parents are fully informed about the trip details. The cost of the trip will be $440.00 each. Students will pay their own way. In case of students not being able to pay there will be a fundraiser to help offset the cost. No student will be denied to participate due to funds. There will be no cost to the district.
Approve the request for the Viera High Cross Country boys and girls teams, approximately 21 students and three (3) chaperones to attend the Appalachian State University team camp in Boone, NC July 20-24, 2014.
