Job Description - Manager-Purchasing Services
Through an analysis of the Office of Purchasing and Warehouse Services operations and needs assessment in conjunction with integrated efficiencies, the proposed reorganization has identified two vacant Driver/Courier I positions to be deleted. In exchange, to meet new departmental assignments and provide more value to District operations, the position of Supervisor-Purchasing Specialist is to be replaced with the position of Manager-Purchasing Services. Departmental staff position changes made from 2004 through 2008 have resulted in an increase in key strategic management and training responsibilities for this position. In addition, this position will be responsible for the Office of Purchasing and Warehouse Services in the absence of the Director. The proposed reorganization of the Office of Purchasing and Warehouse Services will result in an annual savings of projected salaries with fringe benefits of $6,128.
Recommend the approval of the creation of the Manger-Purchasing Services position and the deletion of the position of Supervisor-Purchasing Specialist position.
