Agenda Item #32
Title I SES Contract
Current Florida Statutes require districts to offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to eligible students at all Title I schools. Districts must arrange for the provision of SES, in the form of after-school tutoring by private companies that have been approved by the State to provide this service. Parents of eligible students are able to select the service provider, and the district must enter into a contract with each company selected. The contract for 2012-2013 is the same as the one previously approved by the board.
All Title I schools will be required to offer SES during the 2012-2013 school year. The total amount budgeted for SES is $1,234,530. This amount is subject to change pending receipt of the final federal Title I Part A allocation.
Approve the 2012-2013 Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider/district contract and authorize the Superintendent to sign contracts with individual SES providers on behalf of the Board.
