2017-2018 IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) Grant Application Submission
The 2017-2018 IDEA grant application specifies the use of grant funds specifically to support students with disabilities including parentally-placed private school students and Pre-Kindergarten students with disabilities. The grant funds provide salaries for teachers, instructional assistants, support specialists, psychologists, behavior analysts, behavior technicians and other essential ESE-related staff members. The grant also provides funding for contractual services within community agencies who provide transition services, school-to-work experiences, family support, nursing, and mental health services. Professional development, materials, supplies, and technology for individual students with disabilities, classrooms, and mission critical support staff are also included in the IDEA Grant application. The IDEA Grant allocation amount for 2017-2018 is $ 16,503,118 and is allocated as follows: $ 506,534 Pre-Kindergarten, project 418011; $ 836,309 Private Schools, project 418015; $ 15,160,275 Part B Entitlement, project 418014; $ 16,503,118 TOTAL
Provide Board permission to ESE Program Support Services Department to submit the 2017-2018 IDEA Grant application, with proposed expenditure plan totaling the amount of $ 16,503,118 to the Florida Department of Education prior to the July 1, 2017 deadline.
