Agenda Item #23
Kindergarten Report Card
A committee of kindergarten teachers, administrators, and district resource teachers worked together to develop a new kindergarten report card for communicating progress to parents. The new design is based on teacher and administrative input, current research and current state standards. Once the report card draft was developed, administrators, teachers and parents were able to provide input through an online survey prior to the finalization of the draft. Furthermore, four area meetings were held to offer kindergarten teachers the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the committee.
It is expected that assistant principals will receive information in July on the new report card and then conduct school level trainings for kindergarten teachers. Kindergarten teachers will provide information to parents about the report card in August and September during open houses and parent conferences. Support documents, including a video presentation, will be developed this summer for use by teachers and parents.
Approve the Kindergarten Report Card.
