Agenda Item #54
Adults with Disabilities Grant Application 2010-11
This proposal requests a continuation of previous funding for services to adults with disabilities. The state legislature requires this funding be allocated through a grant process. The primary purpose of this project is two-fold: 1) is to provide adults with disabilities the opportunity for enhancement of skills that are consistent with their abilities and needs; and 2) is to establish a seamless set of services for the recruitment and referral of adults needing these services throughout Brevard County. A secondary purpose is to ensure that the program and services will be appropriately administered to the targeted population of adults with disabilities. The Grant will afford $448,907 for 2010-11, a 5% decrease from that of 2009-10.
Note: The application is dependent on various informational pieces and reporting from community agencies. If possible, the Grant Application will be provided to the Board for review by June 15, 2010 for Information. If it is not available by that date, it will be made available prior to the July 20, 2010 Board meeting for "Consent".
Approve the Grant proposal request of $448,907 to serve Adults with Disabilities in Brevard County.
