Agenda Item #47
Resolution Relating to Florida Education Purchasing Consortium
Florida Statutes permit the entry of governmental and educational entities into a consortium arrangement for the provision of services to their respective jurisdictions. The Florida Education Purchasing Consortium is a statewide buying consortium, created by the Florida School Boards Association with support from the Florida Association of District School Superintendents, to maximize school district's purchasing strengths. The District has determined that it is in the best interest of Brevard County students, taxpayers and employees to join with other public agencies through the execution of an Agreement.
The consortium will operate without fees or costs to member districts. The consortium will identify products and services that can be purchased by a statewide process that leverages the purchasing power of all the school districts to receive the "maximum best value". The maximum best value is the combination of lowest price and highest quality that creates the "best deal" for all participants.
Approve the resolution and interlocal agreement authorizing the District to join the Florida Education Purchasing Consortium.
