2015-2016 IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) Grant Application
The 2015-2016 IDEA application specifies the use of grant funds specifically to support students with disabilities including parentally-placed private school students and Pre-Kindergarten students with disabilities. The grant funds provide salaries for teachers, instructional assistants, support specialists, psychologists, behavior analysts, behavior technicians and other essential ESE-related staff members. The grant also provides funding for contractual services within community agencies who provide transition services, school-to-work experiences, family support, nursing, and mental health services. Professional development, materials, supplies, and technology for individual students with disabilities, classrooms, and mission critical support staff are also included in the IDEA Grant application.
The IDEA Grant Allocation amount for 2015-2016 is $16,025,850.00 and is allocated as follows:
$488,608.00 is allocated for preschool (project # 416011)
$848,673.00 is allocated for parentally placed private school (project # 416015)
$14,688,569.00 is allocated for Part B Entitlement (project #416014)
$16,025,850.00 GRAND TOTAL
Provide board permission to Exceptional Student Education Program Support department to write and submit the 2015-2016 IDEA Grant Application, with proposed expenditure plan totaling the amount of $16,025,850.00, to the Florida Department of Education prior to the July 1, 2015 deadline.
As this grant will exceed the $50,000.00 threshold, it will be brought back to the Board for approval to accept at a subsequent meeting when received.
