Agenda Item #9
Long-Term Use Agreement allowing the Florida Institute of Technology to Utilize Palm Bay High School's Football Stadium
The Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) recently started to participate in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) level athletics' including football. For the next two seasons, FIT requested use of Palm Bay High school's (PBHS) football stadium for a limited schedule of scrimmage matches between their own players and football games against other colleges. The PBHS administration feels they can accommodate this request and welcomes the opportunity to assist. FIT may need to expand the PBHS football stadium press box and possibly make other changes to the stadium to meet NCAA requirements. If construction changes are needed, the costs associated with these construction changes will be solely born by FIT and all changes will be approved by the district's facilities department and PBHS before any changes are made. This contract has an option to continue the agreement for an additional three seasons should this use be acceptable to both the school and FIT.
Approve the long-term agreement between the Florida Institute of Technology and the Brevard County School Board's Palm Bay High school for the use of the football stadium.
