Agenda Item #18
Blackboard Learn for Course Delivery Agreement 2012-13
The Office of Certification and Professional Development offers over 30 add-on certification 60-credit courses in ESOL and Reading K-12 Endorsement Programs annually at no charge to teachers in Brevard Public Schools. At least 15 courses in the Gifted K-12 Add-on Certification Program are also offered in a fee-supported program at minimal charge to teachers ($165 per course to pay for instructors and materials). Courses in all endorsement programs are offered in both face to face and online formats. The online courses are delivered using the Blackboard Learn for Course Delivery Software.
We are moving toward development of all courses in these programs online to facilitate teacher convenience and to decrease travel needs while maintaining high standards for quality professional development; in 2012 we purchased and developed four additional online courses.
The Blackboard Learn for Course Delivery Software enables us to meet teacher needs for quality professional development online and is a critical component of our Add-on Endorsement Programs to increase teacher skills and flexibility in serving all students with excellence as the standard.
