Agenda Item #20
Agreement w/School Board of Brevard County & Eckerd Youth Alternative, Inc.
Eckerd Youth Alternatives, Inc., has purchased KidsPeace, Inc., a nonprofit mental health provider in our schools. The attached agreement changes the KidsPeace, Inc. agreement to the new company name, Eckerd Community Cares. This agreement will allow the above agency to access Medicaid and insurance payments for mental health services with the understanding that some children will need to be served without the ability to pay. The wording and provision of this contract is the same that we have with other agencies providing mental health/substance abuse treatment or case management services.
A copy of the agreement is available in the Office of Student Services.
Approve the agreement with School Board of Brevard County and Eckerd Youth Alternative, Inc., Eckerd Community Care (formerly KidsPeace, Inc.) to provide Mental Health Services within Schools.
