Project Management Emergency Purchase Order for Sherwood Elementary School (SALES SURTAX)
The HVAC chiller plant serving the entire campus at Sherwood Elementary School is failing. The renewal work is included in the funded sales surtax list for Sherwood Elementary (Attachment F), but is scheduled for the third year in the program.
Because the chiller is failing, the District engaged OCI Associates, Inc. to develop the specifications for the chiller replacement so that the chiller could be ordered for summer 2015 installation. Emergency purchase orders for the design ($38,960) and owner direct purchase (ODP) of the chiller $149,748) were ratified by the Board on May 26, 2015.
The District solicited installation bids from the continuing HVAC Mechanical Services Contractors and awarded the low bid to Schwenn Services and Contracting in the amount up to $356,602.50.
These procurements were reported to the sales surtax Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC) at their June 17, 2015 meeting.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. This procurement was done as an emergency purchase order so that the work could be done over the summer break.
Confirm approval of Emergency Purchase Order #21518726 to Schwenn Services and Contracting in the amount up to $356,602.50 for the chiller installation and related work at Sherwood Elementary School.
