District Instructional Leadership and Faculty Development Grant
The purpose of the Florida Department of Education (FLDE) District Instructional Leadership and Faculty Development Grant is to provide professional development for principals and other district administrators in instructional and human resource leadership positions. The focus of the professional development is use of the teacher evaluation to improve instruction, aligning instruction with district curriculum and state standards, best financial practices, and other leadership responsibilities supporting student achievement through job-embedded delivery and through either regional, local, or digital formats. The district will use this grant to provide leadership opportunities for principals and district level personnel focusing on improving inter-rater reliability and improving capacity for principals to engage faculty in high quality instructional practices. The grant proposal is due, via U.S. mail to the FLDE by 4:00 P.M. on August 1, 2014. A copy of the grant proposal will be available in the district grant development office on July 31, 2014. The item is submitted as required by board administrative procedure 6111 section one for permission to write and submit the grant. Upon approval the grant will be submitted to the board, at a subsequent meeting, as an item for consent after information to accept the grant award.
