Job Description - Coordinator-Timekeeping/Payroll
The Florida Auditor General has cited the District for its timekeeping processes and, as a result, recommended that the District improve and enhance time entry and leave approval records for all District personnel. The District's Internal Auditors, McGladrey, have provided similar audit findings and recommendations for process improvements for timekeeping. In order to address these audit issues and to support the improved process, Payroll Service is requesting approval to realign a current Payroll Specialist position to Timekeeping/Payroll Coordinator. The realigned position will be dedicated to assist the Director of Accounting Services and Payroll Manager with a variety of functions including, but not limited to, the testing of data, training of employees/site timekeepers, and the roll out of a new automated timekeeping system that will address audit issues district-wide. The total financial impact of the position realignment is approximately $8,500.
Recommend approval of the position realignment process to include the creation of the position of Timekeeping/Payroll Coordinator.
