He asked that comments be related to public education and the business of the Brevard County School Board.  He also asked that speakers refrain from making slanderous statements or personal attacks on others.

Speakers in order of appearance:

  1. Laene Keith - Corridor Bus Service

-----------------------------------------------
Ms. Keith mentioned that there should be a moment of silence for recently retired teacher, Laurie Ann Sargeant.  Ms. Sargeant was a BPS teacher for 25 years.
-----------------------------------------------

Following the conclusion of Ms. Keith's comments, Board members asked Dr. Blackburn to have a conversation with staff very quickly regarding bussing to choice schools in light of the private bus company stopping service.

Mr. Craig suggested utilizing a "tiger team" which would be two or three members of staff to come up with a list of solutions.  These "outside the box" ideas may provide a solution until a long term strategy can be implemented.

Mrs. Kneessy mentioned that the Boy Scouts may have someone that can provide  CPR instruction.

There was some brief discussion about "compression only" CPR.

Mrs. Henderson said that we need to look at improving the process by which principals can request air conditioning for after hours events.  She said that there are times that the principals state that they made the request for AC and still when the time comes, there is no AC.
