Presentation
4. 2015-16 Proposed Millage Levy and Tentative Budget
Attachment: July 30, 2015 First Public Hearing.pdf
Minutes:

Karen Strickland, director of Budgeting, Cost Accounting, and FTE, gave a presentation on the Proposed Millage Levy and Tentative Budget for 2015-2016.

She and JoAnn Clark, director of Accounting Services answered questions from the Board throughout the presentation. It was reiterated several times that the legislature sets the millage that the District will assess; not the District.

Mr. Craig asked to have a good discussion and strategic planning regarding debt servicing and what types of advance payments we might need to make to bring our principal down or even if that is a good idea or not.  Mr. Craig mentioned that he had asked for some scenarios at earlier workshops on whether or not it makes sense to pay early or to continue our debt service. He requested that Dr. Blackburn facilitate his request.
