Audit Committee Representative
The Board has created an Audit Committee, which reports to the Board, and shall direct and monitor the internal audit function. The committee shall be governed by rules and procedures set forth in School Board Policy 6700. Dr. Barbara Murray, District 2, has chosen Don Lusk to serve on this committee as her representative.
Don Lusk is a Brevard County native who has served in a variety of local government leadership positions over the last 30 years. Mr. Lusk has served the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners as an Assistant County Manager for Community Services and has experience in leading various local government organizations, some of which include Libraries, Parks & Recreation, Space Coast Area Transit, Housing & Human Services, Animal Services, Extension Services, Mosquito Control, Historical Commission, Criminal Justice Services, Emergency Management, Public Safety, and Charter Review. Mr. Lusk retired from the County in March 2010 and began working with the Brevard Workforce as a Program & Policy Officer in July 2010. Mr. Lusk attended Brevard County Public Schools, Brevard Community College, and the University of Central Florida (UCF). earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters in Public Administration degree from UCF. Mr. Lusk has extensive public service experience with local non-profit organizations and has served as an Adjunct Instructor for the UCF Public Administration Program. Mr. Lusk is active in his church where he serves as a Grief Support Group Facilitator and as a Stephen Ministry Leader. Mr. Lusk lives on Merritt Island with his wife Jennifer.
Approve the recommendation by Board Member Dr. Barbara Murray to appoint Don Lusk to serve on the District's Audit Committee as her representative.
