Contract with the 95 Percent Group

This contract is a continuation of services provided by the 95 Percent Group over the last three years. The district has undertaken a multi-year approach to improving reading instruction in the elementary schools, and this training is integral to that initiative in Title I schools, particularly those identified as in need of improvement under No Child Left Behind (NCLB). The training includes the following:

  • 3 days on-site training for administrators
  • 3 days on-site training in Launching Intervention Groups, which also supports the district implementation of Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • A total of 8 days on-site training for the 4 Phase II schools
  • A total of 18 days on-site training for the 3 Phase III schools
  • A total of 12 days on-site training for the 2 Intermediate Implementation schools
  • Ongoing management and oversight by the company's Manager of Consulting Services
  • Regular e-mail and phone support for schools throughout the year, including data analysis

The total cost of these services is $121,110 which includes a professional consulting fee of $272.09 per hour for the 44 days detailed above ($272.09 x 44 x 8 hours a day = $95,775).  Also included in the contract is $25,335 for training materials and travel expenses.

The material is copyrighted, and there is no other company that provides comparable training in this area. The district has been well satisfied with the services provided to date as evidenced by feedback from principals, teachers and the positive impact on reading instruction.

Approve the contract between Title I and the 95 Percent Group for professional development services in the amount of $121,110.
