Agenda Item #28
Independent Evaluator Services for the Teaching American History Grant
Following the official award notice of the Teaching American History grant on July 15, it is critical to engage the Independent Evaluator as soon as possible in the initial phase of grant implementation. The evaluator services are required and necessary for the successful completion of the project, and to adhere to the federal project compliance issues.
The selected Independent Evaluator, Dr. Mariann V. Schmudde, Insights for Achievement, is a member of the Evaluator Pool approved by the Board at the March 24 meeting. Under a separate memorandum of understanding, this evaluator assisted in the pre-submission phase of grant preparation through the development of the evaluation design model and assisting staff to refine the project objectives.
The Evaluator will be involved throughout the 3 year project (possibly 5 years) for a fee of $25,000 per year inclusive of all expenses. A detailed Service Agreement (attached) outlines the contracted specifics.
The evaluator service cost of $75,00 for 3 years was written in as part of the grant.
Request the approval to contract with the designated Independent Evaluator.
