Brevard/Indian River Out-of-County Student Attendance Agreement
Section 1001.42, Fla. Stat., authorizes district school boards to cooperate with school boards of adjoining districts regarding student attendance. The School Board of Brevard and Indian River Counties have had an agreement that allows students residing in one district to attend school in the other district subject to the approval of both the student's resident district and the receiving district. the Indian River School Board has requested that the Brevard School Board memorialize this cooperative agreement in an Interlocal Agreement. Pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement the out-of -district attendance of students is to be authorized on a year to year basis and the student must provide their own transportation. The term of the Interlocal Agreement is three (3) years and either Board may terminate the Agreement with 30 days notice.
Approve the Interlocal Agreement between the School Boards of Indian River and Brevard Counties for out-of-district student attendance.
