Agenda Item #6
Proclamation Declaring September 2015 Proud To Be An American Month
September affords several opportunities to commemorate the ideals upon which our Nation was founded, such as Constitution Day and Celebrate Freedom Week. Schools are encouraged to observe Patriot Day (September 11th), the state-mandated Celebrate Freedom Week (September 21st through 25th), and the federally-required Constitution Day (September 17th) during this month with student programs and activities. Additionally, schools may emphasize the character traits of patriotism, trustworthiness, respect, fairness, caring, and good citizenship.
Adopt a resolution proclaiming the month of September 2015 as Proud To Be An American Month.
