Approve the Brevard Public Schools Student Progression Plan for 2009-2010
The Student Progression Plan is designed to reflect the legislative requirements impacting student progression for 2009-2010. Staff continues to make changes as new guidance is received. The Florida Department of Education has advised us of the following changes which were part of the 2009 Legislative Session:
· Delete the General Education Development (GED) Option for Graduation
· Add the requirement for district provision of a Virtual School Option
In compliance with Section 1008.25 et al. of the Florida Statutes, the School Board must adopt a plan for student progression in Brevard Public Schools. The plan must be updated or revised periodically to incorporate locally proposed changes mandated by Florida Statute or State Board of Education Rule.
A copy of the Student Progression Plan will be available in the School Board District Office, as well as in all offices in Curriculum and Instruction.
To approve the Brevard Public Schools Student Progression Plan for 2009-2010.
