Audubon Elementary School - Additional Design Services
The District engaged GRAEF under their continuing services contract to design the facility renewal elements for Audubon Elementary School. The initial design scope, approved in April 2014, preceded the sales surtax and only included the cooling tower and outside air handling units components of the HVAC system renewal. A subsequent work order approved in November 2014 included design for additional HVAC system renewal components and construction administration. These services were funded with Capital Funds. A third work order, approved in March 2015, provided design for the non-HVAC system facility renewal items that were funded by the sales surtax. The total design and construction administration fee to date is $171,845.
GRAEF has submitted a proposal for additional services based on design work required as the construction progressed on the HVAC system renewal projects. Modifications to the construction documents were required necessitating the additional services. The requested additional fee is not to exceed $16,600 and has been validated by the District's Project Manager. The fee for additional services will be funded through the sales surtax.
Because the fee for additional services is adding to a contract already in excess of $50,000, Board approval is requested. In order to expedite the work, approval is requested without prior information.
Approve the additional services fee proposal with GRAEF for Audubon Elementary School in an amount not to exceed $16,600.
