Agenda Item #17
Adult & Community Education GED Testing Fees
In 2014 GED testing will convert to a computer based testing (CBT) system. With this change, the national and state GED Testing Services will increase testing fees to $130. Students currently pay $70 to take the paper/pencil test. This fall, the current test will be offered in both paper/pencil ($70) and CBT ($130) formats to help our local students transition to the new test. Examinees will have several opportunities to complete the current paper/pencil test in the fall prior to implementing the more expensive computer based testing (CBT) in January. Offering the current test in CBT format this fall will also allow our local GED testing office the opportunity to ensure our system is functional and running properly when we transition exclusively to the CBT testing format in 2014.
