Superintendent's Designee for Facilities Approvals up to $25,000
The following two sections of Policy 6340 - Modifications and Alterations to School Buildings grant the Superintendent approval authority up to $25,000.
B. The Superintendent may approve any building alteration or site improvement which costs no more than $25,000 and which does not significantly change the function of the space.
E. The Superintendent may approve priority change orders in the name of the Board up to $25,000 for individual change order items for the purpose of expediting the work in progress. Such approval shall be confirmed by Board action at the next regular or special Board Meeting. Only one such change order per project can be approved by the Superintendent prior to confirmation by the Board if the change order causes the project to exceed the approved contract budget plus reserves. Nothing in this paragraph shall nullify other requirements in SBE Administrative Rule 6A-2 pertaining to change orders.
In the interest of expediting these approvals, it is requested that the Assistant Superintendent of Facilities Services be appointed as the Superintendent's designee.
