Best Instructional Practices for Block Scheduling
On October 10, 11, and 12, 2012, Dr. J. Allen Queen will provide intensive training to district and school representative personnel in the core subject areas from Astronaut High, Madison Middle, and Titusville High Schools on the Best Instructional Practices for Block Scheduling. This includes the importance of curriculum alignment to plans for development with the Common Core and strategies to improve student engagement and learning with a focus on the disengaged students resulting in sustainable improvement in academic performance. Rigorous training focusing on block scheduling has not been provided since its inception.
Approve the agreement between Brevard Public Schools and Dr. J. Allen Queen for the provision of training and materials to district and representative school personnel from Astronaut High, Madison Middle, and Titusville High Schools on October 10, 11, and 12, 2012.
