Croton Elementary School - Additional Design Build Services
The Board approved a design build contract with Wharton Smith for the sales surtax facility renewal project in February 2018. During construction it was determined that the main switch board needed to be upgraded to handle the electrical loads and improve safety and ease of maintenance. This work was done through a change order that incorporated capital funds into the project in the amount of $45,063.00 as the sales surtax facility renewal funds for this project were fully allocated.
In addition, the school administration and the design professionals agreed on safety improvements relating to the school's access drive. The upgrades improves awareness where motorists and pedestrians cross. These were incorporated into the project through a change order funded with safety to life funds in the amount of $17,105.68.
School Board ratification is required per Policy 6340 when the total aggregate cost of the changes exceed $50,000.
Ratify Change Order #1 (electrical upgrade $45,063.00) and Change Order #2 (safety improvements $17,105.68) for the Croton Elementary facility renewal project, utilizing capital and safety to life funds as noted.
