Satellite High School Field Trip - AFJROTC Students to Fly Aboard USAF HC-130 (Fixed-Wing Aircraft) at Patrick AFB, FL
Educational objectives include orientation to aeronautics, aviation equipment and careers, and airborne navigation. Students will be transported from Satellite High School to Patrick AFB, Florida, on October 28, 2008, via school bus. Students will receive a pre-flight briefing describing the nomenclature, history and mission of the HC-130, as well as safety procedures and equipment. Next, they board the aircraft for a 30-minute flight around the Melbourne/Cape Canaveral area. Students will have lunch at the Patrick Dining Hall and then return to Satellite High School via school bus. The entire trip is funded by the USAF and there will be no cost to the district.
Approve the field trip for 18 students to fly on USAF HC-130 at Patrick AFB, Florida on October 28, 2008.
