Agenda Item #7
Recognition of District PRISM Scholar Winners
PRISM (Promoting Regional Improvement in Science and Math), is a partnership between public schools and the private sector working together to celebrate the success of science and mathematics in our schools. The PRISM program is designed to serve as an incentive for 7th grade students to participate in challenging science and math classes, clubs and competitions throughout their middle and high school years and involves the identification and selection of the Most Improved and Most Outstanding science and math students annually from participating school districts throughout Central Florida.
The eight Brevard Public School district winners (listed below) were selected from among the school winners. The selection was based on the application and supporting evidence provided by each student or school. These students will receive a $500.00 savings bond tonight, presented by a PRISM Board representative. They will also receive another $500.00 savings bond each year they continue to meet the PRISM Scholar criteria.
To acknowledge the eight students as the 2007-2008 district PRISM Scholar winners.
