Agenda Item #29
Federal Entitlement Grants: Title III, Part A
The purpose of the Title III, Part A grant is to improve the education of the English Language Learners (ELLs) by increasing their English language proficiency and ability to meet the same challenging state academic content and student academic standards as all children are expected to meet. Supplementary instructional services will be provided to increase the English proficiency of ELLs with a focus on Florida's Next Generation PreK-20 and Common Core standards to address the needs of student achievement. In addition, parental and community activities will be conducted to increase student achievement and enhance language equitable services for eligible students. Finally, collaborative partners will be identified at the federal, state, and local levels to develop instructional programs and activities that meet the goals and objectives outlined in the proposal.
