Solar Arrays for Cocoa High School and Satellite High School
Florida Power and Light (FPL) has selected Cocoa High School and Satellite High School to receive a ten-kW solar arrays at no cost to Brevard Public Schools (BPS). The scope of this grant includes design, construction and five years of maintenance for the installation. Attached are contracts required by FPL for these grants.
At the end of the five year period, FPL will "sell" the installations to BPS for no cost. (See Attachment 3 to the contracts, and note that this "Form of Bill of Sale" will be signed at the end of the five-year period. It is for reference only and is not be signed at this time).
This project will provide excellent educational opportunities for students of BPS, as well as an example of alternative energy technology to the public.
The School Board Attorney has reviewed the contracts and approved them for submittal to the School Board.
