Agenda Item #19
Master Inservice Plan 2012-13
Florida Statute 1012.98(4)(b)4 requires that the district's professional development system include a Master Inservice Plan (MIP) that is updated annually and approved by the School Board, submitting verification of approval to the Commissioner of Education by October 1 annually. All inservice activities Must be based on the Master Inservice Plan and comply with State Board of Education Rule 6A 5.071 , FAC, Master Inservice Plan Requirements. Components in the MIP are reviewed and updated annually by the Professional Development Council. Each component is listed as a course in the Electronic Registrar Online (ERO) inservice management system. The district received a score of "4", the top rating, in our most recent Professional Development Protocol Review on Standard 3.1.2, Professional Development System; this indicates that training activities in our Professional Development System are focused on content areas and research-based professional practices. The index of components and a copy of the inservice rules and procedures (Section 1 of the MIP) for Brevard County are attached.
Approve the Master Inservice Plan (MIP) for Brevard Public Schools for 2012-13.
