Agenda Item #22

2010-2011 Strategic Plan

The proposed 2010-2011 Strategic Plan incorporates outcome indicators for each of the thirteen (13) Operational Expectations.  The outcome indicators were developed in collaboration with key District stakeholders at a Senior Staff Retreat on June 21, 2010.  Subsequent to this meeting, the proposed Strategic Plan was shared with Leadership Team members at summer Charge Sessions.  The Leadership Team was tasked with sharing the Strategic Plan with their staffs and School Advisory Councils as well as soliciting input for improvement.  The Board was informed of the modified Strategic Plan format and the proposed outcome indicators at a Board Workshop conducted on June 24, 2010.  In addition, the proposed 2010-2011 Strategic Plan is available on the District Website for the community to provide comments/input prior to the final adoption of the plan.

As part of the continuous improvement cycle, the vision statement has been modified to reflect identified needs of the organization as well as the community.  The District will continue to strive to be the best academically in the state and nation.  However, the vision has been broadened to include serving the community and enhancing students' lives by delivering the highest quality education in a culture of dedication, collaboration, and learning.

Subsequent to the September 14, 2010 School Meeting, the Strategic Plan has been modified.  The following change was made to outcome indicator 1.2.2:

By 2013, seventy percennt (70%) of all students and each ethnic subgroup enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and the Cambridge (AICE) program will score a three or better on AP Exams achieve the designated score of 3 or higher on the AP exam, 4 or higher on the IB exam, and Level E or higher on the AICE exam.
