21st Century Community Learning Center Grant 2012-13 Explorers University
This project provides supplemental financial assistance for Brevard Public Schools to establish a successful partnership with Brevard Cultural Alliance, Health First Pro-Health & Fitness Center, and Melbourne Police Athletic League to provide quality after school activities for students and support for the parents of children who attend four elementary schools, Discovery, Sunrise, Harbor City, and Jupiter Elementary schools.
Using funds from this project, Discovery, Sunrise, Harbor City, and Jupiter Elementary schools will become 21st Century Community Learning Centers. The "Explorers University" program, in partnership with Brevard Cultural Alliance, Health First Pro-Health & Fitness, and Melbourne Police Athletic League, will establish programs designed to use school sites after school. Staffing and programming for eligible students will be provided by the grant funds.
This Proposal with permission to write and submit was board approved on June 12, 2012, Agenda Item #33.
Copies of the application will be located in the Adult Education grant office at North Area Adult Education Center.
Approve to accept a five-year 21st Century Learning Center grant offered by the FLDOE, for Adult & Community Education, in the amount of $3,080,000.00 to be distributed as follows:
