Title
FLDOE District Instructional Leadership and Faculty Development Grant

Discussion
The Office of Professional Learning and Development has received a $178,032 project award from the FLDOE to provide professional development for principals and other district administrators in instructional and human resource leadership positions. The focus of the professional development is use of the teacher evaluation to improve instruction, aligning instruction with district curriculum and state standards, best financial practices, and other leadership responsibilities supporting student achievement through job-embedded delivery and through either regional, local, or digital formats. The district will use this grant to provide leadership opportunities for principals and district level personnel focusing on improving calibration, effective feedback, and improving capacity for principals to engage faculty in high quality instructional practices, as well as to develop internal capacity for strategic planning and effective resource allocation around prioritized district goals. The project period is for the fiscal year 2016 ending June 30, 2016. There will be no personnel hired under this project and there are no matching fund requirements. The item was submitted, as required by board administrative procedure 6111 category two, for permission to write and submit the project application on August 11, 2015.
