Title II, Part A: Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund
Brevard Public Schools received the 2015-2016 Title II, Part A project award notification in the amount of $2,406,684. The purpose of the Title II, Part A entitlement is to provide local educational agencies funding to support (1) increasing student academic achievement by improving teacher and principal quality and (2) holding local educational agencies accountable for improvement in student academic achievement. Brevard's Title II, Part A application aligns with the purpose of the entitlement program by supporting teacher and principal training in state content standards that correlates with district strategic imperatives to assist in closing achievement gaps. Major activities include providing professional development opportunities for teachers and principals in all core academic areas and leadership training to improve student achievement. A copy of the approved Title II, Part A application is available for review in the State and Federal Projects office.
