Boundaries for New High School 'CCC'


Maps of the existing attendance boundaries for Bayside, Melbourne and Palm Bay High Schools and three proposed Alternatives ("A", "B-1" and "C") for the new attendance boundaries are attached.  Also attached are comparisons of capacity utilizations, ethnic distribution, ESE distribution and Free/Reduced Lunch distribution for the existing boundaries and the three proposed alternatives.

Public meetings were held at Southwest Middle School on 10/2/08 and at Central Middle School on 10/7/08.  A Capital Outlay Committee (COC) meeting was held at the ESF on 10/9/08.  Summaries of the public meetings and the COC meeting are attached.  Also attached is a "Questions & Answers" document in response to questions received at the public meetings.

Note that proposed Alternative "B" has been revised to Alternative "B-1".  The Superintendent and staff reviewed input from the public and COC meetings to create the recommended Alternative "B-1".   



Approve the recommended modifications to existing attendance boundaries for Bayside High School, Melbourne High School and Palm Bay High School to create a new attendance boundary for High School 'CCC'. 

Approve the following grade configurations for High School 'CCC':

2009/10 - Grades 9 and 10

20010/11 - Grades 9, 10 and 11

20011/12 - Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12
