Palm Bay High School Academy of Law and Public Safety Trip to Washington, D.C.
The Junior Class of the Palm Bay High School Academy of Law and Public Safety is requesting School Board approval to conduct a trip to Washington, D.C. on December 7-11, 2008. Thirty (30) students and five (5) adult chaperones plan to travel by charter bus to visit our nation's capitol. Some of the events the students will be participating in are having a tour of the D.E.A. Training Facility, the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, and the U.S. Custom's & Border Protection Agency Headquarters. They will also participate in tours of Alexandria, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Prior to leaving Washington, D.C., the students will tour the various exhibits of the Smithsonian.
The group plans to leave Palm Bay High School at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2008, by charter bus, and return to the school at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008. Four days of school will be missed. The cost for the trip is $589 for quad occupancy. The cost is inclusive for all rooms, meals, admissions, and transportation. Students will be responsible for their travel expenses. There will be no cost to the District.
