Agenda Item #37
Eau Gallie High School Band Performance at Carnegie Hall, New York City
The 60 students in the Eau Gallie High School Symphonic Band have been invited to play at the National Band and Orchestra Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City on April 9-12, 2009. The students will travel by air from Orlando to New York City where they will sightsee, perform their concert at the music festival and participate in a music clinic given by one of the nation's leading music educators. The trip will be financed through activities and will be scheduled during spring break to avoid conflict with school days. Sixty-three students and 10 adults (parents and teachers) will make the trip at a cost of approximately $1277.00 per person. Costs are likely to change slightly due to rising air fuel costs. A tentative trip itinerary and supplementary information is attached.
To approve the Eau Gallie High School Band Performance at Carnegie Hall, New York City, on April 9-12, 2009.
