Field Trip - Melbourne High School Crew Team Trip to Augusta, Georgia
The Melbourne High School Crew Team is requesting School Board approval to compete in the Head of the South Regatta in Augusta, Georgia on November 10 - 12, 2017. This is one of the largest high school rowing competitions in the South. The event will be held along the Savannah River in Augusta, Georgia. An itinerary is attached.
Forty students, two teachers, and five A+ parent chaperones plan to travel by charter bus to Augusta, Georgia. They will depart from Melbourne High School on Friday, November 10, 2017 and return on Sunday, November 12, 2017. No school days will be missed since November 10th is a holiday. Students and chaperones will stay at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Augusta 1049 Stevens Creek Road, Augusta, GA 30907. Estimated cost per student is $200.00. Monies will be raised through community sponsorships, approved fund raisers, and family contributions. Chaperones will pay for their own meals and lodging. The Melbourne High School Crew assumes all responsibility for costs. THERE WILL BE NO COST TO THE DISTRICT.
