Coquina Elementary School - Award of Bid - Building 3 Flooring Replacement

Discussion

Plant Operations and Maintenance have identified that the carpet in the kindergarten and preschool areas of Coquina Elementary School (Building 3) are worn and cannot be sufficiently cleaned. The District standard for classroom flooring material is porcelain tile specifically for durability and sanitation since it can be cleaned and disinfected.

Plant Operations and Maintenance solicited bids for the work from the District's continuing general contractors. Two bids were received. The low bidder is Canaveral Construction, Inc. in the amount of $74,300 (which includes moving furniture if needed).

The work is planned for either the November or December holiday break.

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000.



Recommendation
Award the bid to Canaveral Construction, Inc. in the amount of $74,300.
