Involuntary Termination of Instructional Employee, Gregory J. Azcueta

Discussion
Gregory J. Azcueta is an instructional employee of the District and was assigned to Harbor City Elementary School as a teacher under a professional service contract.  The Superintendent has charged Mr. Azcueta with gross insubordination and misconduct in office and conduct unbecoming a certificated employee as set forth in the Superintendent's October 14, 2010, letter attached hereto as Exhibit "A"

Recommendation

1.   Terminate the employment of teacher, Gregory J. Azcueta, and cancel his Professional Service Contract effective October 26, 2010.

2.   In the event Mr. Azcueta makes a timely request for a hearing, authorize the School Board Attorney to transmit the hearing request to the Division of Administrative hearings for further proceedings.

3.   Authorize the Superintendent to retain services of counsel for the hearing process if requested.
