Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award

Discussion
Mr. Obeth Diaz, teacher at Apollo Elementary in Titusville, FL, was named one of three educators to win the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award by Florida Governor Charlie Crist. Diaz was honored on October 11 at the Governor's Mansion during their annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This year's Hispanic Heritage Month theme was entitled Recognizing Florida's Hispanic Heritage: Past, Present and Future. Diaz of Puerto Rican descent teaches sixth grade at Apollo Elementary School. He also teaches an after-school Spanish Club. He has a specialist degree in educational leadership and serves as the School Advisory Council Chairman for Apollo.

Recognize Mr. Obeth Diaz as recipient of the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award
