2014-2015 Charter Applications Recommendations for Denial or Approval
Brevard Public Schools received one (1) application for a charter school to become operational in the 2015-2016 school year; Premier Innovations Career & Technical Education Center. In accordance to Section 1002.33 (6), F.S. a sponsor shall, by majority vote, approve or deny an application no later than sixty days after the application was received by the Office of School Choice. Premier requested an extension from the district to conduct the application review. Copies of the charter application were distributed to the Charter Application Review Team for the evaluation. After completing a thorough review of the application, utilizing the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) evaluation instrument, the Review Team met on August 15, 2013 and August 22, 2013 to discuss the proposal. In addition, the Review Team conducted an interview with the applicant's team on August 21, 2014. A summary of the recommendation as well as the supporting documents will be provided to Board Members prior to the October 14, 2014 Board Meeting.
