FLDOE Grant for the Access Project - Award Notification
The Florida Department of Education requested that Brevard Public Schools apply for the fifth year of this discretionary grant through the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), Division of Public Schools, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS).
The Access Project is designed to support the teaching and learning of the Florida Standards Access Points which includes statewide professional development for educators. This project will provide effective instructional planning, supports and strategies. Additionally, the Access Project will support teachers in content areas not covered by Florida State Standards, such as science and social studies. The Access Project will organize, support, and facilitate the writing of additional access points, essential understandings, and the development of additional instructional resources.
The Project Award Notification was received on October 2, 2015 confirming that Brevard Public Schools has been granted this non-competitive discretional award. Our district will continue to serve as the fiscal agent of the Access Project. The budget and program performance period for this project is October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. The total funding amount is $700,000 for the year. There are no costs to the district associated with this grant. The district will receive the approved indirect costs to administer the grant. Randy LaRusso, Resource Teacher on Assignment, will continue in the role as Project Manager for FLDOE for the Access grant.
Accept the award from FLDOE of the Access Project Grant for the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.
